Goodbyes are just "until we meet again."

“I almost don’t want to tell anyone about Bull’s Playground, it’s so beautiful and so unique, a secret paradise on Bocas Del Toro in Panama. We, 2 adults and one child aged ten, stayed in the dome for 4 nights in June 2023 on our travels around Panama and this place is truly an amazing experience. The owners, Laurie and Ken, have created a spectacular eco-accommodation that is sympathetic to the natural environment with lots of little details that make it stand apart from the ordinary. The dome itself is set in the treetops, with views through leafy vegetation and palm trees down to the tropical beach with is a few minutes stroll away. The decor and amenities are tasteful and the dome is spotlessly clean. There’s an honesty bar with snacks, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, air con, fan, fairy lights, rainshower, and look up to the skylight to watch the stars at night. Did I mention the swinging bed and hammock on the terrace? It’s the most relaxing place and you feel like you have arrived in the most peaceful and natural place ever. When we arrived in Bocas Town, it was colourful, dusty, hot, bustling, a friendly feast for the eyes. Ken arrived and whisked us off around the coast and we went from a lovely, busy little town to this peaceful corner of paradise, 5 minutes drive away. Up the short flights of stairs to the dome, Laurie greeted us with fresh squeezed juice and spa towels soaked in water and essential oils. The next morning, breakfast was a treat! Bananas, papaya, pineapple, served with iced water. Then Laurie brought out her homemade muffins (gluten free, baked with almond flour). After that, Laurie foraged the garden for greens to accompany our duck egg omelette served with sourdough toast and fried potatoes with bacon. Cappuccino made with coffee beans roasted by Laurie filled us to the brim and went for a lie down. This was a pattern for each of the 4 days. We walked down to the adjacent beach for swims, we lay on the terrace and listened to the birds and monkeys, we went into town for meals and shopping. We had great chats with Laurie and Ken and learned about their own amazing travels and inspirations. The very best day out we had was a private boat trip with Captain Sebastian Castillo. It was the trip of a lifetime. He is an expert on boating and also the wildlife and plantlife, having grown up around Boacas and Zapatilla and working with the Smithsonian institute, National Geographic, the BBC and so on. He has spent decades taking scientists and film crews out around the islands to record footage and data.He took us to see dolphins, sloths, red frogs, starfish, corals, and explained the land to us. We stopped for lunch and he took us to on of the Zapatilla Islands. Well, if you ever imagined paradise, this is it. A beautiful, uninhabited tropical island with powder white sand, palm trees dipping into the water, lots of little private spots for swimming and dreaming. We have never seen such a beautiful place, ever. We spent a couple of hours in the water and relaxing on the beach. Captain Sebastian explained to us how his family lived on the island and the history of it and how it is now a haven for critically endangered sea turles to lay their eggs. He drove us back as the sun was going down and it was truly the most special day and we will never forget it. Laurie and Ken can give you Sebastian’s details as they work closely together. So, to end this review of the most wonderful 4 days, we would like to thank Laurie and Ken at Bull’s Playground and thank Captain Sebastian for the trip of a lifetime. Please look them up for your trip to Bocas, you won’t regret it. We will return to this little slice of heaven to see our new friends again. Thanks for everything.”

“Laurie and Ken, they’ve been extremely kind since I got there to I’ve left. They were always attentive to all my needs, and offering me different options and activities to make a beautiful stay. They are two very warm and I don’t forget. As far as the place is beautiful, it’s beautiful. Much nicer than the pictures. The view is wonderful, and the place is quiet to rest and is close to everything. The breakfast was amazing, the cleanliness of the place is great and they even lent me the bikes to go out for a walk. It’s a place I’d go back to, without a doubt! Thank you for such warm attention 🫶🏽
